Fyrinnae Arcane Magic Eyeshadow Swatches

As promised, I swatched all of the new Fyrinnae eye shadows that I ordered before the holidays. I decided I would start with the Arcane Magic shadows first.
Here's what Fyrinnae's website says about Arcane Magic shadows:
Arcane Magic Eye Shadows
These are not "pigments", but powder eye shadow which aren't pressed to be solid. Fyrinnae's Arcane Magic Eyeshadows are specialized colours with a highlight that changes hue depending on how the light hits it (closer to or further from a light). Different light sources may show different shades, too (they do not show as well in sunlight as artifical light, and some may not appear to change at all). Please note that the Arcanes will probably look a little different in photos than in person because of the light-change effect.
These weigh approximately 3 grams (full size), and are in the same jars as our regular eye shadow.
Arcane Magic eye shadow ingredients: Mica, Silica, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Stearate. May contain: Iron Oxides, Manganese Violet, Tin Oxide, Ultramarines, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Blue #1, Red #40, Yellow #5, Ferric Ferrocyanide, Chromium Oxide, Ozokerite.
I picked up all sample sizes, I don't use these shadows enough to need full sized & you get a decent amount in the sample size for $2.25. There is less of the product in the Arcane Magic shadows than Fyrinnae's other shadows. I already own Steampunk (love), Dark Fantasy, Are You My Mummy & Electric Stardust, you can see them swatched on my blog if you click on the "Fyrinnae" tab on the left hand side (or ask me & I'll provide you with a link!)
In this order, I purchased Conjuror, Velveteen Werewolf, Raven's Prophecy, Trickery & Evocation. Each swatch is done dry on the left & over Pixie Epoxy on the right.
Conjuror
What Fyrinnae Says:
Rich burgundy-brick shade filled with shimmer that changes from aqua to bright crimson-pink, depending on proximity to light or angle.
My Thoughts:
Pictures don't do this color any justice. It's really beautiful but as with all Arcane Magic shadows, it's REALLY hard to capture them in photographs. Dry, it looks like a pinkish-purple with a light blue shimmer. This color over Pixie Epoxy BLOWS my mind. If you can't see it here, Google it. I'm not kidding, it's like a pink/blue & green all mixed into one & when the light hits it, it changes completely.
Velveteen Werewolf
What Fyrinnae Says:
Complex whirl of lime green and gold on a shimmering brown base, graced with a touch of lavender sparkle. Moved close to light or at an angle, and the shadow warms to hues of peach and pink on rusty brown.

("Given to a young boy on Hallow's Eve, the velveteen werewolf simply wished to be real...")
My Thoughts:
I think I bought this because I love the name! It's a brown base with bright green & gold shimmer. When applied over Pixie Epoxy, you can see a tiny bit of lavender, which I thought would look odd but somehow it works! I love neutral browns & I can't wit to rock this color!
Raven's Prophecy
What Fyrinnae Says:
Deep black, this shadow glitters with lime and pale blue. Closer to light or at different angles, and the sparkle takes on a pink and turquoise appearance. Photos don't even begin to show the effect. Halloween 2011.
My Thoughts:
I did not need this shadow because I have Immortality which is very similar, but I LOVE rainbow colors over a black base. Immortality is much more rainbow, I can see much more blue & pink in Raven's Prophecy. Dry, it's a little bland, but when applied over Pixie Epoxy, it's like raindow goodness! I don't know if I'll ever be able to wear it but I lovvvve it!
Trickery
What Fyrinnae Says:
Trickery is a light tan shade with a light grass green shimmer and highlight, but changes to peach as it gets closer to the light. The change is subtle on this shade. The Arcane Magic shadows have highlights that change hue when moved closer to or away from a light source (lamps rather than sunlight). Angle does affect it, but you may not notice the change as much as other people.
My Thoughts:
This is one of my favorite colors that I ordered. I actually like it better dry, it's really subtle & the green shimmer shows up better when it's dry. I will most likely wear this as a lid color.
Evocation
What Fyrinnae Says:Neutral taupe with a highlight that subtly changes from a pale rose/coral to a mint green hue. Close to Damn Paladins in base shade.
My Thoughts:
I love Damn Paladins (Now known as Work Safe Blue) I would even go as far & say it's one of my top 5 shadows that I own & this color is very close. It's a little darker & more brown based but I think I 'll use the two together. You can really see the rose color in the foiled picture. Gorgeous.I love Fyrinnae, they are cheap & the colors are unlike any other colors I have ever tried. If you haven't tried them , you really should!
