What's On My Plate?

I'm sorry! I've been focusing on my weight loss A LOT & neglecting everything else! I do put makeup on & do my hair each day but I don't do anything exciting! I want to bring you into what's going on with my weight loss! Tomorrow will be 4 weeks & I feel happy, in control & more than anything I'm motivated! These 4 weeks have NOT been easy. I've struggled with trying not to binge & making healthier choices.

This blog post is about what I eat on a regular basis & what I'm working towards. So I'll start with all the goods!

First off, if you like desserts & ice cream, you have to try Skinny Cow products. They are delicious. The ice cream is so good that even Dustin loves them! I usually pick up the Cookies & Cream Truffle bars & the Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwiches. They range from about 120-150 calories, but they are the perfect treat for after dinner!

I eat pre-packaged meals about twice a week. I try to stay under 300 calories & then I include a piece of fruit. I love Smart Ones, but they are expensive so i usually grab what is on sale. Lean Cuisine had a sale 5/$10 which is a steal because Smart ones are almost $3 each! I love the Key Lime Pie dessert cups, Macaroni & Cheese & Lasagna Florentine from Weight Watchers. They are all so good! I picked Lean Cuisine this time (which I haven't tried, but I've heard great things about!).I love fruit! Winter sucks because fresh produce is expensive & usually crap quality. However, the store had strawberries buy one, get one. I grabbed four packages (I cut the other 2 packages up & split them into tupperware for lunches!) I also picked up raspberries which are my favorite! They were on sale for $2.99 (these sell for $5 sometimes!). You can't beat fresh fruit, it fills you up & tastes awesome!
More fruit! I am hooked on Cutie's Clementines! They are small enough to throw in my purse, easy to peel & sweet! I get a case a week, they are expensive but so worth it. I eat about 2-3 a day, mostly with breakfast or for a snack to hold me over when I'm starving!

And this is one of my favorite things to cook (and eat!)! This is homemade Spicy Vegetable Soup. I use canned diced tomatoes (no salt added) & reduced sodium chicken broth, I allow them to simmer with a few spices ( Mrs. Dash, cayenne pepper, parsley, black pepper & garlic powder) then I add fresh onions, garlic, green beans, celery, carrots & cabbage. I cook for about 20 minutes & then enjoy! You can change it up too! Sometimes I add sweet corn or asparagus, whatever is in my fridge. You can keep the cayenne out if you don't want it spicy. I make it in small batches & then take it to work. It is so much healthier than processed soups!

What are you favorite healthy foods or recipes?

keep your fingers crossed that my weigh in is down tomorrow!

Have a great night!!

  1. Love it babe! Keep the great work! Those are things that I did myself as well! I found that some of the frozen dinners to be quite high in sugars though, so be careful!

Healthy Choice dinners are a lot better for you then lean cuisines so make sure even though the calories may be similar, you're also keeping an eye on the fat and carb content!
