Goodbye Summer...

Hey there,
I hope everyone has been doing well.
I’ve been very busy with work and I’m dreading that summer is coming to an end. Boo!
I’ll just give you a quick update on what’s been going on in my life.
My job is getting ready to launch a new website, so I’ve been putting in 50+ hour weeks. I will never complain about my job because well, I have a job. These past few years were scary for most people, as businesses were closing or laying employees off. My job did not cut a single employee & still gave a bonus at the end of the year.
I’m trying to get the apartment in order. We just moved in & I’m slowly realizing that there is not enough closet space. So it’s time to organize & get rid of LOTS of things.
Dustin & I are trying to settle on some things for the wedding. My goodness, it is so stressful! We can’t decide on a venue or anything. Plus, why is everything so DAMN expensive? I mean there are places that want $55 a person for food. That’s more than our entire budget! Ahh, at least we have 2 years to get the basics down.
Last but not least, I’ve been on a hardcore diet. I tried on a pair of jeans that were a size 11/12, and they were tight! Are you kidding me!? Last year I was wearing a size 6 and I will NOT buy new clothes because I have let myself go! So it’s 1500-1800 calories a day with 5 days of cardio. I have to admit, I have been so hungry but my goal is to lose 7 pounds by October 1st. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I can stick to it and drop 25-30 pounds. Why is it so easy to gain weight & so hard to lose it!?

Have a great day! :-)

Update!

So I have 3 FOTD's to show you and some nails! FOTD #1 is my usual everyday look. Sometimes I will add false eyelashes, or for a pop of color I'll line my waterline with a bright eyeliner. 2 & 3 are fun looks! I would wear them out but not to work. Too much for the day! I finally got my nails done! I know how terrible it is for your nails, but my natural growing nails are so bad!! Enjoy!

Tag.. you're it!

Hi Everyone!
Long time since I've had a chance to update. I have a bunch of pictures to post but I haven't had the time. So you should see a post soon! (I'm hoping tomorrow!)

So I got a tag from the lovely Makeup by LisaMarie (if you haven't checked her out, you can do so here http://lisamarie337.blogspot.com/ .. she does some rocking makeup! )

So here goes nothing!...

-What's your Favorite Makeup Look?
BRIGHT! I love really bright everything! I've always loved vintage looks also. Pin-Up and Marilyn Monroe type makeup.

-What part of your Body do you Love?
I have really toned legs from skating all the time. I always get compliments on them.

-Who is your beauty Icon?
I LOVE Kim Kardashion. I think she is beautiful! I'm also a huge Marilyn Monroe fan. I think she is a classic!

-What Beauty Product makes you feel instantly good?
Mascara or false eyelashes. They both really brighten your eyes and make them POP!

-How do you look after your skin?
This is the first time in my life I haven't had persistant acne. I usually use a makeup wipe to take off all my makeup and then I wash my face with Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash. I apply Oil of Olay Active Hydrating Beauty Fluid twice a day, but I only wash my face once. I use a makeup wipe at night to take all my makeup off.

-What is your Signature Scent?
I absolutely adore Escada Rockin' Rio! It is fabulous! I only wear it on special occasions because I paid $112 for a small bottle. I usually wear Victoria's secret Love Spell or Victoria's Secret Heavenly as my everyday scent.

-What's your hair care secret?
I wash my hair twice a month. I know, it sounds gross. It has saved my hair! I used to wash my hair every morning and it was always super dry and would break off. But when I started going to beauty school I started washing it less and less. I use dry shampoo every morning. When I wash it I use a clarifying shampoo, moisturizing shampoo & a deep conditioner. I NEVER blow dry my hair. It makes my hair so dry and frizzy.

-How do you pamper yourself?
I get my nails done every two weeks. My work gets us massages once a month. I guess that's about all, I should really start treating myself more often!

-Finally, do you have a beauty philosophy?
True beauty is on the inside. I've known so many beautiful people that were truly miserable on the inside. I like to think I'm a good person, and I will bend over backwards to help anyone in need. That's how I have always been. I would much rather be known for being a nice, kind person than being only pretty. Looks always fade away.

I tag everyone that reads this! :-)

Have a lovely day!

Saturday, where have you gone?

Hello!
I hope everyone is having a nice weekend!
It feels like the weekend flies by and the work week drags on.
So I found this beautiful blue shift dress at JCPenney for $15 and I am so excited to wear it this weekend to a friend's wedding. But I am having the hardest time trying to figure out what shoes to wear. The dress has a black belt around the waist so I want to wear black pumps but I can't find my plain ones. I only have like 5 inch stripper heels. Haha. Seriously, I am already 5'8.. so that would make me like 6feet tall. Looks like I have a reason to stop at the mall! :-)
Here's my FOTD:
Nothing too exciting. It's as good as it gets in 96 degree weather!
Face:
Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse in Natural Ivory
Bare Minerals in Medium & Medium Beige
Bare Minerals in Warmth
Eyebrows:
ELF Eyebrown Kit in Light
Maybelline Eyebrow Powder in Light Brown
Eyes:
Urban Decay Primer
Maybelline Colossal Mascara in Black
Maybelline Lash Stilleto Liquid Eyeliner in Black
Lips:
NYX Round Lipstick in Louisiana
Amuse Lipliner in Plush Red
NYC Liquid Lip Shine in Sheer Raspberry
Have a great day! :-)

Life.

Sorry it’s been so long. There has been a lot going on in my life.

Dustin & I finally had a chance to get away this past weekend. We live about 30 minutes from Hershey Park, which is one of my favorite places to go in the summer. It’s become almost a tradition that we go once every summer. For those of you who don’t know, Hershey Park is an amusement park; it’s also where Hershey’s chocolate was made. (Now I’m pretty sure it’s made in Mexico). When I was little, my parents used to take my brother and I there every summer. I hated roller coasters for the longest time, but one summer I fell in love. Hershey Park has grown so much since then; I think they have added almost 4 new roller coasters. They also added a new water park, with a Lazy River & Wave Pool. It was Dustin & and I and another couple that Dustin has known for years. We stayed from 10-7 and it was a scorcher that day. It hit 94 degrees, no clouds in the sky. Needless to say, Dustin and I ended up burnt to a crisp! I am still feeling the burn on my shoulders!
This is my favorite roller coaster at Hershey Park. It's called Storm Runner and it goes from 0-60 in abou 4 seconds!

Unfortunately, I came out to really terrible news. A friend of mine from work, her son was killed the night before in a car accident. He left a party with his girlfriend (who had been drinking and was underage) she was speeding and went to pass a car & lost control of the convertible she was driving. The car hit a tree and then rolled into a telephone pole, resting on its roof. My friend’s son was pronounced dead at the scene. He was just 20 years old. It really makes you think. I know everyone has stepped into a car at some sort of risk. I know when I was younger, I felt like I was invincible. I’ve lost too many friends and family to stupid mistakes. I don’t even like to have one drink and drive anymore, cops where I live are very strict. If I got a DUI it would ruin everything I have going for me. And I can’t imagine if I stepped foot into a car under the influence and hurt someone. I’d never forgive myself. SO I’m asking you to keep my friend and her family in your prayers as I know they need the strength to get through this.

I’m dreading next weekend already. I have a wedding to attend Friday night and then Saturday afternoon I am in a wedding for a friend. That Monday we’re leaving for a week at the beach with my parents. Can we say stressed out!? I was hoping to lose some weight before the beach but I find that when I am stressed all I want to do is eat. I’ve been eating nothing but junk and sweets. Ah, I swear I’ll get back on track if it’s the last thing I do!!

Last but surely not least, we got our new kitten, Ginger. Thankfully, we picked her up at the right time, another week and she would have died. You have to understand the reasoning behind why I fell in love with this kitten. In January, Dustin was driving and there was a cat in the middle of the road. Nine cars almost hit her before Dustin stopped and picked her up. She was in a bad way and he rushed her to the vet. She spent eight nights at the animal hospital. She was about 12 years old, had all of her teeth pulled due to infection, she had feline AIDS and all off her fur fell out on her back because she was allergic to the fleas that were biting her. I cried all night when we picked her up because we were sure she would die. We spent the next 3 months dedicated to making her last days the best she could have. She started getting very sick and sneezing blood, so again we took her to the vet. The news was devastating. We found out that she had cancer in her jaw and would not live much longer. We spent every waking moment that we could giving her as much love as we could because we knew time was running out. The vet told us that we would know when it was time, and we did. We had her put down May 8th, and I still cry sometimes because I miss sweet “Old Cat”. Our new kitten, looks EXACTLY like Old Cat. When I saw her I cried because it was like the big person upstairs knew that our hearts needed healing. So I knew from the moment I saw her that Ginger had to be mine. The first picture is Ginger, the second & third are dear Old Cat!

Sorry to sound so dreary.. I promise the next post will be more upbeat!
Peace & Love
Krystle
