A Sneak Peek at Wedding Planning!

I thought I would dedicate a blog post to what is taking up the majority of my time. I never knew how much planning (and money!) it really takes for a wedding. We're planning on having 100-150 guest & we're getting married by my maid of honor's Dad. The reception is at an old theater that has been renovated & it's absolutely gorgeous!
Our wedding is on October, 20 2012 & our colors are black, white & red.
All of my bridesmaids picked the same dress, which surprised me. I wasn't picky about the dress, it just had to be knee length & black. So they picked the dress below. They all looked gorgeous & I figure this is a fairly formal dress that they'll be able to wear more than once.
I'm not sure yet, but this is the hairstyle that I really like. I'm planning on having it close to this or half up & half down. Luckily, 5 of my 7 bridesmaids are licensed cosmetologist & I am also licensed. None of us will have to pay to get our hair & makeup done which is awesome! Starting next weekend, I'll be having my hairstylist (she's also a bridesmaid!) bleach my hair so that I can be blonde for summer & for the wedding.

These are the shoes that me & all my bridesmaids will be wearing. I want to have a picture like the one below with all of our shoes matching. Plus I figure these shoes can be worn more than once! They are a little pricey ($89.99) but they are so cute & almost exactly what I am looking for.

Here is a picture that I want to have taken, except all of our shoes will be red. I have to admit, I do love that hot pink!
Since our colors are red, black & white, we'll be using roses for our bouquets. I'm thinking the bridesmaids will look like the picture below..
And I'll have a bouquet of red roses!
I'm looking for our cake to be somewhat close to this but I want the black to be lace. Our wedding invitations have black lace on the front.

I apologize if I slack on my blog a little bit in the near future. I've still got a lot of wedding stuff to finish still!
Have a great day!

Sunday Shopping!

Hey!
As usual, I did my Sunday shopping. I always go grocery shopping on Sunday, I was at Walmart & Savemart today.
I mentioned that I had gotten a new camera, I've been using it the last few weeks & I LOVE it! I picked a Canon Rebel DSLR because I read awesome reviews online & a friend from work recommended them. I paid a lot, but I plan on using it for pretty much everything. I'm not really sure how to use all the buttons correctly, but I'll get there!

While I was at Savemart,  I grabbed some Larabars. I eat one between lunch and breakfast some days. M favorite are the Apple Pie flavor. Seriously, they are so good! Plus, they are pretty healthy & are great when you are craving something sweet! They were on sale for 5/$5,  which is pretty cheap, they usually run about $1.50 each. I also picked up the 2 Wet N Wild lipsticks that I passed up. I got the new Spring shades, Cherry Picking & Pretty Persimmon. So, I finally have the entire set of the Spring 2012 Collection. I also grabbed another ELF Studio Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder. I figured it would be good to have in m kit for weddings.
While I was at Walmart, I picked up a whole bunch of random things. I grabbed 2 headbands for $.97. I have been wearing them a lot lately because my hair is so long, I wear it up almost all the time. I bought Rimmel Clean Match Foundation in Ivory & Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. I don't buy their things often because I am pretty sure they test on animals which I DESPISE but I was in need and the were sold out of my color in Maybelline. Next, week I'll grab it & keep these as back ups. The were cheap, the foundation was $3.47 & the powder was $4.47. I grabbed NYC Primer, it was cheap ($2.47) and I decided to try it! I had a coupon for $1 off Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector B.B. Cream & decided to try it. I've heard good things about it. I also picked up 2 Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoo Eyeshadows in Pomegranate Punk (which I didn't realize I already have!) and Tough as Taupe. They were $5.47 each. I got a travel nail kit & mini deodorant for my purse & a Cold & Allergy Chapstick for my purse (which I love!). Last, I picked up some knockoff Proactiv Body Wipes. I'll keep these in m gym bag, hopefully they'll keep my shoulders from breaking out.
I had a chance to play with some makeup today so I'll be posting looks this week!
Don't forget to thank the people who served America tomorrow (& ever day!).
Happy Memorial Day!

Glamour Doll Eyes Swatches Pt. 3

Hi!
Another round of Glamour Doll Eyes Swatches! I think I have 1 more left after this post.
In no particular order, here is:
Juicy Mango
Dirty Jeans
Pistol Pistol
Ladies Night
Phyrra
He Loves Me Not
Juicy Mango:
What GDE says:  Juicy Mango is a medium shimmer orange with pink afterglow when rubbed down.
My Thoughts: I'm weird about oranges, I typically don't buy or wear  much orange. I tend to stick with cooler colors, but this came in the "Art Deco" Collection & I'm glad! When it's dry it's a super sheer bright orange, but when foiled it becomes a shimmery baby pink. Super gorgeous!

Dirty Jeans:
What GDE says: Dirty Jeans* is teal green and rubs into green-blue with golden hues.
My Thoughts: When dry, this is a light shimmery blue. When foiled, Oh my gawddd it becomes a beautiful blue with a golden shimmer.

Pistol Pistol:
What GDE says: Pistol Pistol is a blackened silver (almost gunmetal) with multi colored shimmer, but mainly red shimmer!
My Thoughts: I love this color so much! When it's dry, it is a gorgeous silver grey. When foiled, it has a pinkish tone.
Ladies Night:
What GDE says: Ladies Night is a beautiful matte black with a hint of aqua glitter!
My Thoughts: I almost didn't get this color, but I am so glad that I picked it because it just so happens to be my FAVORITE of the entire bunch.  I had to show a picture of the actually color. It's black with super bright teal shimmer, but when it's foiled it is matte & super dark. I really LOVE this color. (You can see what it truly looks like below!)
Phyrra:
What GDE says: Phyrra (pronounced fear-ah) is hot pink with aqua sparkles. The picture doesn't even do this color justice, its truly gorgeous!
My Thoughts: When this color is dry it's very sheer with a lot of shimmer. I love it foiled because it's a fushia with blue shimmer.

He Loves Me Not:
What GDE says: He Loves Me Not* is a neutral beige with some warm rose undertones.
My Thoughts: You just can't have enough neutral browns. And this is a gorgeous warm brown. When foiled it almost has a pink tint to it.
I haven't had much time to play around with these yet, but I have Sunday & Monday off! Hopefully, I get a chance to create something fun!  Also, Glamour Doll Eyes featured me on their website under "How-To" section, you can check it out here!
 Have a GREAT holiday weekend!

Glamour Doll Eyes Swatches Pt. 2

Here is the second round of swatches from Glamour Doll Eyes.
Again, they are in no particular order:
Disco White
Glam Girl
Show Off
Tattooed
Shamrock
 Disco White:
What GDE says: Disco White is a white with some rad aqua glitter!
My Thoughts: This is the perfect color for the inner corner of your eye. It is a very subtle white with shimmer. When applied wet, you can really see the aqua glitter, which is gorgeous!
Glam Girl:
What GDE says: Glam Girl* is a super bright purple!
My Thoughts: I happen to love purples, especially bright ones. This color is so bright, when foiled it is a vivid grape purple.
Show Off:
What GDE says: Show Off* is a medium sparkly brown.
My Thoughts: This looks more copper toned to me. Even dry it's pretty bright but when foiled it looks like a penny color. The shimmer is really cool because it's multi colored.
 Tattooed:
What GDE says: Tattooed is a very unique blend of matte and shimmer. This color includes a bright blue mixed with a gorgeous shimmery purple.
My Thoughts: If Mingles & Glam Girl had a baby, it would be Tattooed. It is not quite blue, not quite purple.
Shamrock:
What GDE says: Shamrock* is a bright green.
My Thoughts: This is a very bright shimmery green. It's more of a mint colored green than a kelly green.
I had a hard time getting good pictures of these colors. I kept getting a really weird shadow & the colors looked off. The pictures are pretty accurate. I just had to take like 100 different ones!
Have a great day!

Glamour Doll Eyes Swatches Pt. 1

Hi!
I have swatched all of the Glamour Doll Eyes samples that I received, so over the next few days I will be posting them. If you are anything like me, I research things like crazy before purchasing, so hopefully this will be helpful! I have them in no particular order.
So here is:
Graves in May
Lovers Lane
Mingles
Oddity
Grease Lightning
Graves in May:
What GDE says: Graves in May is a grey with pink undertones and multi colored shimmer.
My Thoughts: It looks like a muted pink grey with lots of shimmer. When dry it goes on pretty sheer, wet gives it more of a grey appearance.
Lovers Lane:
What GDE says: Lovers Lane* is a deep, red, metallic color.
My Thoughts: When applied dry, it has almost a brown color appearance. I absolutely love this color when foiled, it's a gorgeous copper red.
Mingles:
What GDE says: Mingles* is flat, matte, blue pigment.
My Thoughts: Holy Cow, this color is amazing. It's a very matte royal blue, it's a little hard to blend dry but the color payoff when foiled is killer!
 Oddity:
What GDE says:  Oddity is a very unique blend of shimmer and matte
My Thoughts:  Dry this color is a very sheer lime green with yellow shimmer. When it is applied wet is gets almost lime green with a golden shimmer.
Grease Lightning:
What  GDE says: Grease Lightning* is metallic green/gold with a black undertone.
My Thoughts: Dry, it's a very dark gold with a hint of green. When it's wet, it really shows the black undertone. It's almost green as apposed to gold also.
I used my homemade mixing medium (3 parts water, 1 part glycerin) to foil all of the eye shadows. Using them dry can be a task sometimes because you really have to pack the color on & they can be a little tough to blend. But if you take the time to work with them, the final result is worth it!
Have a great night!

Glamour Doll Eyes Dino Spotz & Chocoholic

 Happy Monday!
Yesterday I had the chance to play with some of the new eye shadows that I received from Glamour Doll Eyes. Of course I chose to use Dino Spotz first because I couldn't wait to use it!
I also included a before picture so that you could hang it in your attic to scare the rats away! (haha, just kidding!)
I won't lie, typically I don't use pigments or loose powders because they can be a challenge to work with. I have a ton of them that rarely get used. I was so intrigued by Dino Spotz that I had to figure out a look with it.
Here is a list of products used:
Eyes:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Maybelline The Turbo Volume Express Mascara
Maybelline Lash Stiletto in Brownish Black
E.L.F. Eyebrow Kit in Light
NYX Liner in Pearl White
GDE Dino Spotz (foiled on lid & blended up dry)
GDE Chocoholic (outer corner & crease)
Face:
Bare Minerals Prime Time Primer
NYX Jar Concealer in Light
Maybelline FIT Me Foundation in 110 Porcelain
Bare Minerals in Medium
Maybelline Dream Matte Powder in the color Medium
NYX Cream Blush in Natural
Lips:
NYX Lip Liner in Rose
NYX Round Lip Gloss in Whipped
Haha oh my gawd. This is exactly why I wear makeup! I went through this really weird phase where I was too lazy to wear makeup for like 2 months (I think it was in October-November) & I had a photo shoot for work, so I had to wear makeup & when I came downstairs, Dustin said "Wow, your face looks really nice!". I haven't missed a day (other than my lazy days where I lay around in sweats!) without makeup since! Sorry about my lazy eye, it's a disaster!
Dino Spotz reminded me of MAC Club, so decided to swatch them together. The first two swatches are MAC Club, applied dry first & then applied with homemade mixing medium. The next two swatches are of GDE Dino Spotz, applied dry & then with mixing medium. Dino Spotz is a little bit more red based, but they both have the same greenish blue shimmer. So if you like MAC's Club but want to save a few bucks, you might want to try Glamour Doll Eyes Dino Spotz! You won't be disappointed!

Have a great day!

Wet N Wild MegaLast Lip Color Spring 2012 Collection

Happy Mother's Day to all those beautiful Mother's out there!
I finally got my hands on Wet N Wild's MegaLast Lip Color 2012 Spring Collection. I picked up 4 out of the 6. I knew that I would wear the 3 pinks & I picked up the coral color to try out.
Here is Dollhouse Pink, Don't Blink Pink, 24 Carrot Gold & Pinkerbell.
 What Wet n Wild Says:
4-hour, long wearing lip color leaves a semi-matte, crème finish in one stroke. Glides on easily with rich, velvety color that doesn't cake, feather, or bleed. Made with hydrating skin-care ingredients: Hyaluronic Microspheres provide extraordinary adhesion to lips, an exclusive polymer complex offers cushion-like feel and texture, and natural marine plant extracts Coenzyme Q10 and Vitamins A & E help smooth lips.
I absolutely adore these colors. They are bright & bold but perfect for spring & summer.
Dollhouse Pink is a very light, blue based pink but it is not chalky at all.
Don' Blink Pink is a neon pink, very opaque (my favorite of the bunch!)
24 Carrot Gold is not quite orange, not quite coral. very bright!
Pinkerbell is a coral pink color. it almost has a gold tone.
Dollhouse pink is almost and exact dupe of NYX's Narcissus. Both very cool toned pinks. I find it hard to wear alone, so I usually layer a darker lip gloss on top.
This picture does no justice to either color, the swatch above is very true to the color. But NYX's Haute Melon is a dupe for 24 Carat Gold. Both bright coral oranges.
If you haven't tried any of these, I highly recommend them. For $1.99 you can't beat the price & the color pay off is gorgeous! I debating picking up the other 2 later today!
Have a great Sunday!

Glamour Doll Eyes Pt. 2

As promised, here are the colors from Glamour Doll Eyes in their jars. I will be swatching them fairly soon. (If you click on the pictures you can enlarge them & get a better view!)
This is the "Art Deco Collection". (Left to Right) Phyrra, Juicy Mango, Pistol Pistol, Oddity, Tattooed & Island Chic. Favorite of this bunch has to be Pistol Pistol, it's got the most amazing flecks of color.
This is the "All Work No Play Collection", Dirty Jeans, Chocoholic, Show Off, He Loves Me Not, Boyfriend Sweater & Bare Naked. Winner from this group is Chocoholic. I'm a sucker for rich browns!
I bought these 3 individually. Glam Girl, Dino Spotz & Mingles.  I love Dino Spotz & Mingles SO much!
This is the "Jessica Harlow Collection", Disco Whie, Ladies Night & Shamrock. My favorite is a toss up between Ladies Night & Shamrock.
I bought these individually. Lover's Lane, Graves In May & Grease Lightning. Favorite is definitely Lover's Lane.
And my favorite of all of them? DINO SPOTZ! It's douchrome, so sometimes it looks brown, others green & even a bit blue. The left one is dry & the right was mixed with a little water. It reminds me of MAC Club, just much richer in color.
Have you tried any of these eye shadows?
Let me know what  you think!

Glamour Doll Eyes

Alright, so I have been on a little bit of a shopping frenzy. I did a wedding last weekend & I used the money to buy some goodies for my makeup kit. I heard about this company called Glamour Doll Eyes on a few blogs & I decided to do some lurking. They have so many awesome colors, so it took me like 5 days just to decide on what I wanted to buy.
I was so impressed with how fast I received the products! Plus they sent me 2 FREE samples & free shipping! I also have to mention how nicely packaged everything was. The eye shadows were sealed (and I only ordered small samples in jars), packed in Ziploc baggies & bubble wrapped.
Here is everything I received. I ordered 21 sample jars for $2.50 each. Which is an absolute steal because these colors are awesome!
These are the 2 free samples I received: Girlfriend Sweater & Blueberry Lush. I almost ordered Blueberry Lush but I had ordered another blue instead so I am happy I got it as a sample!
This is a set called "Art Deco". I was planning on ordering Oddity & Pistol Pistol, so I just got the set.
This is another set called "All Work No Play ". I was just going to buy Chocoholic, but they show you the swatches on their website & I fell in love with Show Off & Bare Naked!
I order the top 3 & bottom 3 I ordered individually. The middle row is the "Jessica Harlow Collection" . I can't get over Mingles & Dino Spotz. They are so amazing. I'll be adding pictures of the colors in just a few minutes!
I am seriously in awe of the colors I received. The are so pigmented & gorgeous. I will be ordering more products shortly from Glamour Doll Eyes.
(Also, I got me new camera & Dustin works all night so I'll be swatching everything I own!)

I finally did it...

Hi!
I finally bought a new camera today & I cannot wait to receive it in the mail! I've been lusting over a Canon Rebel & I finally decided to take the jump & just buy it. HSN is having a special event where if you use their credit card, you get 0% interest for 9 months! After browsing for a few days, I ordered it.  I'll be able to show makeup looks & get my portfolio together! It was a little expensive, but I figure it will be totally worth it! I should have it within the next week & I already have 3 posts ready to go!

So, I have  wedding makeup for tomorrow & a photo shoot for a salon at Sunday. Here's what I packed! I always over pack but I don't want to not have something! I packed my Dinair Airbrush Kit (I will be reviewing this), a few lip glosses, makeup remover, Dinair cleaner, brushes, Wet N Wild palettes & 2 eyeshadow palettes, a lip gloss palette & a blush palette.
I'll be postig a lot more when I get my new camera! YAY!
Have a great night!

What I Have Been Up To..

Heyyyy!
I hope you guys have been doing awesome! I've been super busy lately with wedding stuff! Wtf did they do to Blogger? Gosh, I have no idea how to do anything now!
Anyways, I had a video shoot this past week & I was going for a pin up type look. I think this was the first time I wore red lipstick to work ever! Oh my, I look SO pale!

I took a small shopping trip before buying groceries & picked up a few things on sale! I got the camel colored dress pants for $6.98, they are really weird colored. More pink based than camel. Jeans were on sale for $6.98! SCORE! They have rhinestones on the pocket but they are a little short, I always roll them in the summer. I picked up this tie dye purple leopard dress (it's one shoulder with a ruffle) for $12.98 & I adore it so much! Next, I got this green purse for $9.98. Green is my favorite color!
How awesome are these heels? Did I need these? Nope! Did I buy them for $9.98? YES! I love the back & how it extends over my ankle.
More wedding dress shopping.. This MIGHT be the dress. Oh gosh, so many I just can't decide! I do LOVE this one the most so far...
And the back..

Have a wonderful night!
